| Tours on Demand
In addition to the free tours we give in Spring and Summer, the CPA is now offering private tours of Cabbagetown. There will be a charge for these, similar to tours given in other cities and in parts of Toronto. The cost is $10 per person to a maximum of $100 for the group. Up to 15 people can be accommodated on a tour with one guide. If you have guests from out of town or want to take a tour with a few friends just email us with your request and we will get in touch with you to make arrangements.

Danièle Caloz is a documentary producer and founding member of the Francophone Société d'histoire de Toronto. She also gives guided tours in French in Cabbagetown, including tours for the Cabbagetown People Program.
Her presentation, The francophone presence in Cabbagetown, retraces the history of the craftsmen, workers, shopkeepers, translators and professionals who came to Cabbagetown in successive waves since the 1860s. Squeezed between the Irish Protestants who controlled the North of Queen Street and the Irish Catholics who occupied the South, they nevertheless embarked on a migration toward a better life. First citizens of King, Sackville and Sumach, they moved north to Carlton and Sherbourne, to go still further north to Don Mills. But the francophone presence is still felt in Cabbagetown: new waves of French-speaking immigrants continue to fill the pews of the Sacré-Coeur parish and larger French schools always welcome students from the four corners of the world.
